About Sasha - That Yoga Nurse

Woman in black workout clothes doing yoga in a studio with wooden cabinets and a large window.

Sasha is a NICU nurse and yoga teacher who supports healthcare workers, mothers, and women in reconnecting to their bodies, breath, and inner wisdom.

She first found yoga during a period of deep burnout —disconnected from herself after endlessly pouring into others, with a nervous system stretched far beyond its limits.

Sasha came to yoga almost by accident—though it felt more like serendipity. After a minor surgery left her off work for six weeks, she found herself searching for something gentle to support her physical and emotional healing. A friend recommended a local yoga class, and after winning a space, she decided to try it.

From the moment she stepped into the studio, something shifted. The atmosphere, the teachings, and the sense of community resonated deeply.

Yoga quickly became a sanctuary: a place where she could finally slow down, reconnect with her body, soothe a dysregulated nervous system, and make sense of the burnout she had carried silently for years. It offered her clarity, balance, and a way back to herself—something she now hopes to share with others walking similar paths.

Each time she stepped onto the mat, Sasha felt as though she was landing home—deeper into her body, her breath, and her soul. The practice wasn’t always comfortable; sometimes it was confronting. But she learned that life isn’t about feeling good all the time—it’s about living honestly, staying present with what is, and remembering the ancient intuition that lives within all of us.

As a NICU nurse, Sasha has held both life and death tenderly in her palms. She has stood beside families in their most joyful moments and their most heartbreaking ones. This work has shaped her ability to hold space with deep compassion, steadiness, and nuance. She understands that life is not black and white—it is many shades at once—and she brings that same understanding into her teaching.

Drawing on her extensive knowledge of anatomy, pain science, and nervous system regulation, alongside a respectful and thoughtful relationship with yoga’s philosophical roots, Sasha offers grounded, accessible and embodied practices.

She teaches vinyasa and slow flow, breathwork, and meditation, offering online class blocks, small group sessions, 1:1 support, monthly workshops, and cover at local studios in Glasgow.

Sasha’s hope is that each person she works with leaves feeling more connected to themselves—more grounded, more honest, and more able to lead from the heart with kindness, confidence, and self-love.

“Thank you so much for allowing me to join your class tonight. It was exactly what I needed- a nicely balanced mixture of firing up and switching on, with gentle breath guidance and the offer of alternative poses so everyone attending could find their best practice for the body they brought along today, and intention on the mat. Sasha- you were so calming, measured in your delivery and knowledgeable - it's amazing to realise how early in your yoga teaching you are! Wishing you every success and very grateful for the beautiful energy and wellbeing boost. Thanks so much!”
